Materials Of Vacuum-assisted Pumps

Apr 03, 2025

The materials of vacuum-assisted pumps mainly include metal and non-metal materials. The metal parts are usually made of cast iron, cast steel or stainless steel to provide good structural strength and corrosion resistance; non-metal parts such as seals are mostly made of rubber or polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) and other materials to ensure good sealing and wear resistance.

Metal materials
Cast iron: It has good casting performance and mechanical properties, low cost, can withstand greater pressure and impact, but has relatively poor corrosion resistance.
Cast steel: It has high strength and toughness, is suitable for occasions with large loads and impacts, has strong corrosion resistance, but has a higher cost.
Stainless steel: It has excellent corrosion resistance and long service life, is suitable for harsh working environments, although the cost is high, but has irreplaceable advantages in certain specific applications.
Non-metal materials
Rubber: It is often used in seals, has good elasticity and wear resistance, and can effectively prevent gas leakage.
‌Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE): With excellent corrosion resistance and low friction coefficient, it is suitable for manufacturing sliding seals, reducing friction loss, and improving the efficiency and service life of pumps. ‌Other special materials ‌PEEK material: With excellent properties such as high strength, heat resistance, corrosion resistance and self-lubrication, it is suitable for working in high temperature and chemical environments. ‌
